  • Debonair Beach Motel Demolition Underway: Demolition of the long-standing Debonair Beach Motel on Beach Street has begun this week, making way for a new four-story condominium development with at least 30 luxury units and a pool. West Haven city officials hope this project will help revitalize the waterfront area.
  • Mayor Borer Re-elected: Incumbent Democratic Mayor Dorinda Borer was re-elected to a second term after running unopposed in the municipal election held earlier in November.
  • City Partnership for Morse Park: In September, Mayor Borer announced a new partnership with The Grind LLC, a travel baseball program, for the transformation of Morse Park.

  • Weather Warning: The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement warning drivers to watch for patches of black ice Friday morning, especially on bridges and overpasses, due to patchy fog.
  • Thanksgiving Travel: Record-breaking Thanksgiving travel is expected across the U.S., with Connecticut travelers facing heavy traffic on highways (though no construction is planned) and crowded airports and trains.
