  • Police Bust Illegal Cockfighting Event: West Haven police arrested seven people and seized more than 30 roosters (several already dead) after busting a large-scale illegal cockfighting event with over 100 attendees on the evening of Saturday, November 22. The news broke and was widely reported on November 24.
  • Thanksgiving Travel and Weather: Monday was forecast to be sunny and seasonable ahead of rain on Tuesday and a chilly, breezy, but sunny Thanksgiving Day. Significant traffic delays were expected in the area due to Thanksgiving travel, especially leading up to the Thanksgiving Eve football game.
  • Local High School Sports: West Haven High School is scheduled to host North Haven in an SCC rivalry football game on Wednesday, November 26, at Ken Strong Stadium.

  • Bradley International Airport (BDL) implemented new parking and ticketing features, including a new parking guidance system and free Thanksgiving week shuttles from downtown New Haven.
